Bridge of Hope, based in Malvern, PA, envisions communities where every family has a place to call home. Rooted in Christian faith, the organization supports single mothers and their children by providing housing assistance, fostering supportive relationships with local volunteers and case managers, and equipping families with essential life skills to build strength and resilience. As the need for support continues to grow across the organization's 23 counties, Bridge of Hope launched a three-year capital campaign called "Making Room." The campaign aims to secure long-term housing solutions, provide comprehensive support to whole families, and expand the organization's reach to more people and communities in need.
Cohesive design is essential to any capital campaign, and for Bridge of Hope, it was foundational. The materials needed to align with the organization's established brand while giving individual communities room to incorporate location-specific details. Abstract Union partnered closely with Bridge of Hope's team to create campaign assets that were both instantly recognizable and deeply compelling. We crafted every element to reflect the organization's core values of warmth, clarity, and compassion, while also resonating with a broad donor audience, including alum families, church members, local businesses, and long-standing supporters.
To support the campaign's mission across every touchpoint, we focused on visual elements that would communicate both empathy and impact, reinforcing Bridge of Hope's message through design. Three key components formed the visual foundation:
Authentic, Relatable Imagery
We prioritized photographs of real Bridge of Hope families—capturing the strength, joy, and humanity at the heart of the organization's mission. These images help potential donors connect emotionally with the work and see the people their contributions will directly support.
A Bright and Hopeful Color Palette
We leaned into Bridge of Hope's signature greens and yellows—colors that naturally evoke growth, warmth, and optimism. These colors were consistent across all materials, reinforcing brand recognition while creating an uplifting and energetic tone.
Clear, Uncluttered Layouts
Intentional use of whitespace and visual hierarchy helped key messages and statistics stand out. We designed each layout to guide the reader through the content effortlessly—balancing information with inspiration, and clarity with care.
An Open Door to Belonging with a Campaign Logo
A campaign theme logo does more than identify - it creates a connection and invites participation. The campaign title and geometric lines form the shape of a foundation, roof, and walls, representing the stability that Bridge of Hope offers families. At the center, a rounded yellow door stands open, symbolizing the invitation to support the initiative and make space for others. The result is a logo that is both memorable and meaningful, designed to resonate with every viewer.

A One-Pager & Booklet to Tell Your Story with Clarity
A one-pager is a great starting point for any campaign, especially in early, informal meetings. It provides just enough information to spark interest and sets the stage for more in-depth conversations. Bridge of Hope's one-pager introduces the organization's mission and the campaign's goal of expanding support across communities. Centered images of real families foster an immediate visual connection, while negative space and geometric shapes with rounded edges frame key details, making the content easy to navigate. A yellow ribbon-like element across each side, visually tying everything together with warmth and continuity.

While the one-pager offers a snapshot, the case statement booklet invites readers into the whole story. We incorporated curved lines, layered shapes, and thoughtful photography to build an emotional connection and enhance visual flow. Each page was intentionally structured to highlight campaign goals, impact narratives, and donor opportunities in a clear and approachable way. Yellow accents help key moments stand out, drawing the reader's eye to important information without overwhelming the page. Through its considered design, the booklet allows supporters to fully grasp the scale of Bridge of Hope's initiative and the tangible difference their support can make.

Adding a Seat at the Table with a Pledge Card & Envelope
This folded pledge card offers a straightforward and meaningful way for supporters to get involved. We designed the card slightly larger than standard, making it easier to read and visually engaging. On the front, circular-framed photos of Bridge of Hope families create an immediate emotional connection. On the back, a giving chart outlines contribution levels, with a yellow highlight that draws attention to the total impact. Inside, the layout guides supporters through the giving plan step by step. We used color blocking and soft-edged shapes to organize the content, making essential details, such as providing options and next steps, easy to find and reference. The return envelope complements the pledge card, making it easy for supporters to submit their commitments. Because Bridge of Hope serves families across many communities, it was essential to design an envelope that made the mailing process intuitive and straightforward. A curved yellow ribbon overlaps with green shapes, forming a path that symbolizes the shared journey between donors and the organization toward the campaign's goals. The campaign logo adds a final touch, subtly reinforcing that this is more than just a form—it's part of something meaningful.

A Letterhead & Envelope Set to Make Communication Meaningful
The custom letterhead and envelope set was designed to bring a polished, cohesive feel to campaign communications, whether reaching out to donors, churches, or local partners. The letterhead features a soft green border with organic, varied edges that frame the content without overwhelming it. At the bottom, Bridge of Hope's signature ribbon element rises gently, creating space for key details and visually grounding the page. The envelope builds on this design language with a heartwarming photo of children, tying the message back to the campaign in a way that feels personal and joyful. The campaign logo on the front corner adds a subtle, consistent brand presence, making every piece of communication feel like part of something unified and meaningful.

A Thank You Card & Envelope to Make the Gratitude Personal
As part of the donor experience, Bridge of Hope wanted a way to express heartfelt gratitude to everyone who contributes to the capital campaign. We designed a custom thank you card and envelope set that conveys appreciation and continues the campaign's visual and emotional narrative. The card features rounded, organic shapes subtly forming a new bridge, symbolizing the hope and possibility that each donor helps create for families in need. Inside, a sincere message of gratitude is accompanied by Bridge of Hope's mission statement, placed at the bottom to remind recipients of the impact their support has. The thank you card offers a closing note that feels as intentional as the campaign's beginning, bringing donors back to the heart of why their support matters.

Share the Vision with a Slide Deck
Whether used in church meetings, community events, or one-on-one conversations, the slide deck equips Bridge of Hope teams to share the campaign clearly and compellingly. Throughout the deck, we focused on presenting information in a way that feels both clear and engaging, using color and shape to organize content and highlight key messages. Knowing the Bridge of Hope teams would be using the slide deck in live presentations, we were intentional about striking a balance between text and statistics, ensuring that each slide conveys essential information at a glance. This strategic approach helps viewers feel informed and confident in their support.

Roll-Up Banners that Spread the Message
Roll-up banners are an impactful way to bring a campaign into physical spaces—whether in a church lobby, at a community event, or during a gathering of supporters. Portable and versatile, they enable an organization to convey its message with focus and clarity wherever it's needed. For "Making Room," we designed banners that draw attention while keeping the message simple and approachable. Vibrant green and yellow tones from Bridge of Hope's brand create a warm, energetic backdrop, while curved shapes add a sense of movement and welcome. Photographs of real families bring heart to the visuals, reinforcing the campaign's mission at a single glance.

Solidify Understanding with Icons
As the campaign continued to progress, Bridge of Hope wanted a clear and consistent way to communicate the three key impact areas of "Making Room." We designed a set of custom icons to represent the decisive ways the campaign will expand the organization's reach and support for families in need. These icons were integrated across multiple materials to help readers quickly understand how each part of the initiative contributes to the larger vision. We carried over the visual style from the campaign's theme logo, using overlapping lines and angled edges to create a cohesive feel. Each icon is paired with a title and subtitle to ensure its meaning is immediately evident. The result is a visual shorthand that makes the campaign's goals more accessible and memorable, while reinforcing the strength and structure of the overall design system.

A Brochure to Introduce the Campaign with Impact
Bridge of Hope hosts an annual gala to celebrate their work and bring communities together. This year, they used the event to launch the public phase of their "Making Room" capital campaign and wanted a special piece to elevate the introduction. We created a custom case statement brochure specifically for the occasion, designed to be placed at each table. Closed, the brochure resembles the front of a house, complete with siding textures and a yellow door, symbolizing both welcome and stability. When opened, the door panels reveal a concise case statement and the campaign's key goals. The layout is intentionally organized, allowing the message to take center stage while evoking an emotional connection to the campaign's theme of making room for families. The brochure left a lasting impression, providing attendees with something meaningful to take home and share with others.

Expand Your Reach with Background Banners
A background banner is a versatile tool for any capital campaign, serving as a branded backdrop for presentations, photo opportunities, and public-facing events. It provides a strong visual anchor in any space where the campaign is being discussed or celebrated, reinforcing the message and giving supporters a meaningful place to gather, listen, or be seen. For "Making Room," we designed a banner that Bridge of Hope could use in various settings. It was debuted at their annual gala, where it added warmth and visibility to the event space. To give their team options, we created two versions: a fully designed layout with imagery and typography, and a clean step-and-repeat pattern featuring the campaign logo and tagline. Both versions are easy to set up, visually cohesive with the rest of the campaign, and adaptable for different venues or event formats.
